LCWL works to promote and provide education and training opportunities across the Lachlan and Central West Catchments. LCWL aim to provide education and training for Landcarers to enhance their skills and knowledge, to increase the ability of Landcarers to effectively function in groups leading to improved strategic environmental management and encourage Landcarers to actively seek to educate and train the further Landcare community within their networks.
LCWL achieves this by:
Promoting and communicating information via our networks to Landcarers on education and training opportunities being conducted by a variety of groups. These groups range from local Landcare groups, STIPA, Conservation Farmers, private training providers, CMA's and government departments such as the Department of Primary Industry.
LCWL organise and run education and training workshops for Landcarers in the Lachlan and Central West catchments. An example of this is the Envirofund LCWL Community Capacity BuildingProject. Already through this project we have offered Landcarers the opportunity to participate in TAFE Certificate IV Conservation and Land Management course specialising in Community Coordination and Facilitation.
